With the promulgation of the new curriculum standard,the curriculum reform with the concept of "core quality" training has become a new milestone in the development of Chinese basic education.Physics,as the basic science of science,plays an important role in cultivating students' core qualities.In the "Standards for High School Physics Curriculum" promulgated in 2017,it is clearly stated that the emphasis should be on embodying the essence of physics and cultivating students' core qualities of physics.STSE education as an essential factor in the scientific attitude and responsibility of physical core literacy is an important way to improve students' core qualities.STSE is an abbreviation for the four English words of science,technology,society,and environment.STSE education emphasizes that basic education must focus on the relationship between science,technology,society,and the environment.Focus on the cross-complementation of inter-discipline knowledge so that when students are learning scientific knowledge,they can connect with social issues,use the knowledge they have learned to analyze problems and solve problems,and continuously cultivate students' cognitive ability and decision-making ability to cultivate students' scientific literacy.And critical thinking helps students establish correct values.The textbook is an important support in the curriculum reform.It is a bridge connecting teachers and students,and also an important carrier for carrying out STSE education.The compilation of textbook will have a great influence on teachers' teaching and students' learning.The United States is the birthplace of STSE education,and the United States high school physics mainstream textbook?Physics:Principles and Problems?has been adopted by many countries and received high praise."The stones of other hills can be used to attack jade." From the perspective of STSE,this thesis adopts the literature research method,comparative analysis method and quantitative analysis method,and selects Chinese People Education Edition physics textbook and the American textbook?Physics:Principles and Problems?as the research object.The characteristics and presentation methods of STSE education in the textbook of the two countries were compared and the following main conclusions were drawn:(1)In the curriculum standards,both China and the United States have integrated STSE education concepts into curriculum standards.Among them,China's "High School Physics Curriculum Standards" directly regards "Understanding the relationship between science,technology,society,and the environment"as a curriculum objective,and the United States "National Science Education Standards" puts forward higher requirements for students' rational thinking and reflects the spiritual connotation of STSE education.(2)The textbooks of the two countries involved in the contents of STSE are relatively extensive.Both of them show their own characteristics.The textbooks of china are mainly based on the introduction of popular science and at the same time educate students on the values of emotional attitudes.The contents of STSE in American textbooks are good at linking real life,explaining in detail,focusing on the frontiers of physics and cutting-edge technologies.(3)Both Chinese and American textbooks present STSE education content through columns,texts,experiments,and exercises.The differences in the presentation methods of the two countries are:the way in which the organization is organized is different;the number and form of illustrations are different;the language styles are different.On the whole,the presentation of STSE content in American textbooks is more in line with the cognitive laws of students.Through the research above,we hope that this thesis could provide some references for the preparation of high school physics textbooks,provide more abundant materials for the teaching of first-line physics teachers,and guide teachers to pay attention to STSE education,so as to improve students' physical core qualities and synthesis ability as well as the quality of basic physics teaching.
