As an emerging event,red tourism study sees little research relevant by domestic scholas,especially the research related to the red tourism study among middle school student.The paper takes “Study Engagement Table” and “Satisfaction Table” to make questionnaire and interview to the students in two middle schools in Anyang City.Henan Province.A total of 330 questionnaires were issued,among which 314 were effective.The study found that the enagagement(3.80)and satisfaction(4.05)registered high in these two schools on the whole;in the three variables of engagement,the average value of behavioral engagement,cognization engagement and emotional engagement stood at 4.13,3.69 and 3.68 respectively.It could be seen that the behavioral engagement was higher that cognization engagement and emotional engagement.And the correlated coefficient between engagement and satisfaction was 0.611.Through the interview to four students,it is found that the engagement can promote the study satisfaction a deficiency of the student in a capacity,and the student with higher engagement had a deeper impression on the study experience.However,it is also shown that the red tourism study is still dominated by the adult,and the engagement grade of student is still on the third stage(eight stages in all).Middle school students are not confident and innovative in organizing tourism by themselves,while teachers record insufficient engagement in it.Through the quantitative research,it is figured out that the satisfaction and engagement of the red tourism study are relatively high among the middle school students.And the behavioral engagement is relatively high,while cognization and emotional ones are lower.It is suggested that school should enhance the cognization and emotional engagement of students in the red tourism study.Through the qualitative study,it is found that the active engagement of middle school student in red tourism study is not enough,showcasing a low degree of engagement.It is suggested that school should take different measures in the light of the tourist spots and students characteristics,to strengthen their active participation,to foster their skills and technics,and to play their subjective motivation and creation out.
