Research On The Problems Of The Elderly Education Service In Hohhot City

With the advancement of science and technology,especially the improvement of medical conditions,the average life expectancy of the population has generally been extended.The quality of the people’s life has been continuously improved and the number of elderly people has continued to increase.In 1999,China entered an aging society.Under the background of the dissemination of life-long education concepts and the transformation of major social contradictions,more and more older people in Hohhot have come to elderly education institutions to participate in learning to meet their own needs for development and interest and actively play positive energy.At the same time,the provision of elderly education services provided by the government is difficult to meet the vigorous demand of the elderly population.This has caused some elderly to fail to get registration on the Elderly University.Through the use of literature review methods,questionnaire survey methods,statistical analysis methods,individual interview methods,and other research methods,this article summarizes domestic and foreign scholars’ research on the elderly education in recent years.According to the theory of public service supply,the theory of lifelong education and the theory of Maslow’s demand level,this paper makes a survey and statistical analysis on the supply and demand of the elderly education service in four urban districts in Hohhot and points out that the elderly education service in Hohhot has theproblems of uneven development,shortage of funds and places,single supply mode and low supply quality.The causes of these problems include lack of understanding of concepts,absence of relevant legal policies,imperfect management system and incongruous operation mechanism.Combining the excellent experience of elderly education in the advanced areas at home,and according to the requirements of“Elderly Education Development Plan(2016-2020)”issued by the State Council.This paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions to solve these problems,including renewing ideas and raising awareness,improving the rule of law in elderly education,optimizing the system of elderly education,coordinating the operational mechanisms,and improving the basic ability of the elderly education.Appropriate elderly education should be carried out to promote the sustained and healthy development of the elderly education service in Hohhot.Accordingly,appropriate elderly education should be carried out to further promote the sustained and healthy development of the elderly education service in Hohhot.
