This essay choose 16 typical urban Hohhot public kindergartens in Xincheng district, Saihan District, Yuquan Distract and Huimin Distract as research object. By means of questionnaire, interview and field visit, information and data have been acquired and problems in art education in urban public kindergarten of Hohhot have been found. Such as the short of teachers, boring teaching materials, lack of teaching equipment and one-sided education evaluation. In a word, the art education in urban public kindergarten of Hohhot does not produce its effect adequately. Nowadays, preschool children education problem has become a common concern by whole society, the art education course should have be the main content in kindergarten teaching, as the art is the most conforms to the nature of children education mode. Art education plays an important role in promote the children’s imagination, creativity, observation ability development, and it also plays an important role in coordinate the brain, heart and hand movements. It has been a consensus in academia that art education can effectively promote children’s physical and mental health development in an all-round way. So the author record the status quo of Hohhot city public preschool art education objectively, analyzed the problem and propose the following suggestions, hoping raise concern of related aspects. Such as:further improve the attention of the kindergarten art education, strengthen the preschool art education teachers training, enrich the content of preschool art education, art education method diversification, formulate a scientific evaluation system for the right to evaluate children’s painting process and results.
