“Family Matters” was called “female red” or “needlework” in ancient times and changed to “Family Matters” in modern times.During the period of the Republic of China,Housework Education was formally entered into all levels of school education system.Ordinary middle schools have a wide range of family education curriculums,a broad field of education,and colorful family practice.Why did the ordinary middle school Housework Education in the period of the Republic of China attract attention in the school education system at all levels,and what are their characteristics? This is the main line of this study.Based on this main line,this article will explore whether the Housework Education in the ordinary middle school was consistent with the period of the Republic of China.What are the basic contents of Housework Education,including how to implement the contents and how to implement the effect? The specific chapters of this article are as follows:The first part analyzes the background of the Housework Education,mainly from the three aspects of the tradition Housework Education,the influence of the church education and the foundation dating from the late Qing Dynasty.The second part divides Housework Education into three stages according to the development process.It also elaborates the policies and characteristics of the Housework Education at each stage,explaining Family Matters and Career curriculum standards which issued by the Ministry of Education in the late Republic of China.To highlight this period as the prosperity of Housework Education,the cases is echoed by the curriculum standards promulgated by the Ministry of Education.And it analyzes the causes and performance of the slow development,highlighting the complementary role of teacher education about Housework Education during this period.The third part states the implementation of Housework Education.The implementation of Housework Education is inseparable from teachers,family textbooks,teaching principles and teaching methods,and specific family practice activities.These contents become a whole: the family teaching materials involve specific contents,teaching principles and methods to teach students the contents,and examine the mastery of students' knowledge through family practice activities.In the specific elaboration,a large number of cases are used to illustrate the various aspects of the implementation of Housework Education,with a view to more detailed and practical research on the implementation of Housework Education.The fourth part summarizes the characteristics and inadequacies of Housework Education.It combines the current issues of the Chinese Housework Education,and put forward some targeted suggestions,aiming at providing a certain reference for the development of modern Chinese Housework Education.
