The development system for vocational school has been improved continuously under the situation that the vocation education is promoted vigorously by State.The methods,such as integrating of production and education deeply,promoting school-enterprise cooperation,executing the vocational education training,which provided the opportunities for the development of vocational school.However,because of colleges expansion of the enrollment,serious local protectionism,the awareness that qualifications are better than skills in some regions,which lead to less and less students for vocational school.As a result,the number of students in vocational school has been decreasing sharply,which has challenged the development of the technical school.In order to adapt the market,the vocational schools will try their best to recruit for the steady student numbers,therefore the comprehensive quality of students will be hard to guarantee.And then only the students who cannot go to high schools or colleges will choose vocational schools,it means a big difference when comparing the vocational schools' students and high schools or colleges' students in comprehensive quality.So it generated a lot of underachievers in vocational schools.The existence of underachievers seriously influences the overall quality of education for vocational schools,which brings certain management difficulty to the schools and management level.At the same time,with the promotion of the national craftsman spirit,our nation pays more and more attention to the training of technical talents.The students who are cultivated by vocational schools will be sent to the first line of industry production after graduation,it plays a crucial role on the economic development of the whole society.To further explore the reasons for the formation of the underachiever,and take effective measures to this part of underachievers for developing more talents on ethics and skills,this is especially important for vocational schools.This study is to investigate the underachievers via questionnaires and interviews based on the example of Yunnan copper vocational school,in order to learn abouttheir basic situation,identity status,learning habits,behavioral habits,family status and personal factors.This paper discuss in three aspects: 1.Research background and reasons;2.Investigation and analysis on the current situation of underachievers in vocational schools-based on the case of Yunnan copper vocational schools.3.The advices of management methods for the underachievers in Yunnan copper vocational schools.The author summarizes the general problems for underachievers in six aspects,such as low self-identity,lack of interest in learning and poor self-control ability and so forth.Based on the four formation reasons(society,school,family,oneself)of underachievers,the author puts forward some suggestions for the management of underachievers,which starting from the transformation step of the underachievers and combining multi-party management to a joint force.The purpose is to promote the healthy growth of underachievers in vocational schools.
