Media is the carrier for storing and transmitting information.When the media is used to carry and transmit information with education purpose and participate in education activities,it can be called the Instructional Media.The use of instructional media in pre-school language education activities can stimulate children's interest in language learning and help them accumulate rich language materials.The instructional media can be divided into traditional instructional media and modern instructional media.Both instructional media have their own strengths and weaknesses,and teachers' choice and use of instructional media is particularly important.This study made an indepth understanding and analysis of the application of the instructional media in the language education activities of the kindergarten Y,and put forward suggestions about instructional media application in pre-school language education activities.This study mainly uses the method of observation,interview and case analysis,and selects six classes(2 junior classes,2 middle classes,2 senior classes)in kindergarten Y of Kunming City as the research subject,including 16 language education activities organized by 6 language teachers,morning broadcast activities held at 7:40 a.m each morning and 6 " free talk" activities organized by each age group.The researcher keeps a detailed record of the process of language teachers using various instructional media and interviews with language teachers.After data collection,this study analyzes the application of traditional instructional media and modern instructional media in the education activities in kindergarten Y,identifying the problems that kindergarten have in providing and teachers in using instructional media then putting forward suggestions.This study consists of five parts:Chapter 1,introduction.Firstly,the background of the study is stated and the main concepts are clarified.Secondly,the theoretical basis of the study is determined.Domestic and foreign studies on pre-school education activities and the application of instructional media in pre-school education activities are reviewed.Finally,the purpose,significance,subject,content and method of the study are clarified.Chapter 2,the application of traditional instructional media in the language education activities of kindergarten Y.This is the first main body part of the thesis.Firstly,case analysis is made on the use of image media,physical media and book media in the language education activities.Secondly,the application of traditional instructional media in the language education activities is analyzed.Chapter 3,the application of modern instructional media in the language education activities of kindergarten Y.This is the second body part of the thesis.Firstly,case analysis is made on the use of computer media,electroacoustic media and integrated media in the language education activities.Secondly,the application of modern instructional media in the language education activities is analyzed.Chapter 4,the problems and causes of the application of instructional media in the language education activities of kindergarten Y.The problem in choosing instructional media is that teachers have a preference when choosing the media,and the instructional media that kindergartens can provide for teachers are limited.The reason is that the teachers' own competence is different and the kindergarten's instructional media resources are limited.The problem in using instructional media is that the presenting form of instructional media is inappropriate and the application effect is not ideal.The reason is that the content of the language education activities and children's physical and mental development level can influence the application of instructional media.Chapter 5,the suggestions and reflections on the application of instructional media in the language education activities in kindergarten Y.On the one hand,it is suggested to provide instructional media for kindergartens.On condition that the resources are limited,kindergartens should pay attention to the life-oriented,suitability and integration of instructional media.On the other hand,suggested by the six elements in ASSURE model,recommendations on choosing and using instructional media are put forward,including analyzing pre-school children,stating pre-school language education objectives,selecting instructional media,utilizing instructional media,requiring children participation,evaluating and revising.At last,reflections of the study are made.
