Academic procrastination is a widespread phenomenon at present,and it is also a problem that has been mentioned many times in secondary school counseling.Mainly refers to the inconsistency between the planned arrangements for learning and actual actions.Not only will it hinder the achievement of academic achievement,but it will also increase the student's panic status and thus damage their physical and mental health.Therefore,academic delays need to be treated with caution.In order to fully understand the status of secondary school students' academic delays,to explore the link between future time perception(FTP),the level of Construal and academic delays,and to instruct students not to occur or to have less academic delays,this study uses the middle school students' academic delays questionnaire.The Academic Procrastination Scale,the Future Time Perspective Scale,and the Behavior Identification Function(BIF)questionnaire were studied in two parts.Study 1 used questionnaires to measure the relationship between academic delays,future time perception(FTP),and the level of interpretation.The results showed that:(1)The academic delays of middle school students are moderate,and with the increase of grades,the degree of academic procrastination also tends to increase,but it does not reach significant;(2)Future time insight(FTP)can negatively predict Academic delays;the level of Construal positively predicts academic delays;(3)the level of Construal plays a role in regulation,manifested by the lower level of Construal of future time perspective to predict academic delays stronger.Study 2 uses a combination of questionnaires and experiments to control the delay of traits,manipulate the level of interpretation,and explore the relationship between future time perspective and academic delays.The results show that:(1)the main effects of future time perspective are significant;the main effects of interpretation levels are significant;(2)the main effects of lingering traits are obvious,but the interaction effects of future time perspective and interpretation levels are not significant.Specifically,high future time perspective and low-level explanations can effectively reduce individual academic delays.
