| Through the cluster sampling method,674 middle school students in a senior middle school and junior middle school in Zibo City,Shandong Province were investigated by using the adolescent time management tendency scale,academic delay satisfaction scale,adolescent future time insight power scale and middle school students’ academic procrastination scale to explore the relationship between time management tendency and academic procrastination,And the differences in the relationship between academic delayed gratification and future time insight,the mechanism and demographic variables.The results show that:(1)The overall level of middle school students’ time management tendency is high,which is above the middle level;The overall level of academic delay satisfaction of middle school students is general and in the middle level;The overall level of middle school students’ future time insight is general and above the medium level;The overall academic procrastination of middle school students is not high,which is at the lower middle level.(2)There is a significant negative correlation between future time insight,academic delay satisfaction,time management tendency and academic delay;Academic delayed gratification,time management disposition and future time insight.There is a significant positive correlation between academic delayed gratification and time management disposition.(3)Time management disposition can directly affect academic procrastination,and can also affect academic procrastination through the chain intermediary of academic delay satisfaction and future time insight;(4)There are significant differences in demographic variables such as gender,grade,achievement,parental education and whether they know the concept of time management.This study reveals the relationship between time management tendency and academic procrastination and its mechanism,as well as the differences in demographic variables.In order to guide middle school students to improve time management ability,reduce academic procrastination and its negative effects,and better promote the development of middle school students’ academic and mental health,suggestions are provided from the aspects of students,parents,teachers and schools. |
