In autumn 2017,the state-compiled textbook for Chinese language was adopted for first-year students entering middle school.The state-compiled textbooks pay special attention to the cultivation of reading abilities and habits,and are committed to changing the shortcoming that is the lack of reading in Chinese language teaching.To be consistent with this trend,the methods to test students in classics reading have changed in Chinese language exam in Zhejiang Province.Start from whether or not a student knows of a classic book,to whether he or she has read the specified book,and gradually tries to explore whether or not the student truly comprehends the meaning of the book.This study draws lessons from personal teaching experience and previous research results,combined with investigation among students to propose feasible operation strategies for the teaching of classic books.The use of notebooks for making excerpts is a major tool for this study.The use of such notebooks in different class formats was attempted to explore ways to make the classics reading effectively and efficiently.The main content for this study is as follows:The introduction part discusses the background and the significance of the research,introduces the ideas and methods and highlights the novelty of the study.The first chapter introduces the classic books in the state-compiled textbooks that was relevant to this study,analyzes the intention of the editors and the virtue of including these classics in the textbooks.The second chapter expounds the significance and value of excerpts notebook,introduces the features of excerpts notebook,and the history of its development.The third chapter introduces the current status of using the excerpts notebook and analyzes the problems encountered in the investigation.The fourth chapter introduces the standardized requirements for excerpt notebooks,i.e.the basic protocols for recording and using the notebook.Chapter 5 analyses the experience and subsequent evaluation of using the excerpts notebook.
