The concept of reading the entire book is not the first of its kind.It originated in traditional Chinese language education in ancient China.It was proposed and marked by education theorists Ye Shengtao,Xia Mianzun,and others.Zhu Ziqing and Yu Guanying's reflection and questioning have become important theory.Later,driven by the new curriculum reform,scholars in the field of contemporary Chinese education further developed the value core of the reading concept of the entire book,which serves as a guide for high school Chinese reading teaching.As an organic part of the original work,the excerpts from the novel are closely related to the original work in both content and form.The teaching of excerpts from novels pointing to the entire book is of great significance: it is conducive to students' in-depth understanding of the text and comprehensive grasp of the connotation of the work;it is conducive to students' overall consciousness and to form a good reading thinking;it is conducive to students' grasp of reading methods and improve their Chinese reading ability.Through questionnaire surveys and interviews,it is found that there are still many practical challenges in the selection of high school novels under the reading concept of the whole book: the students' reading ability in Chinese is uneven,the teachers' teaching concepts need to be expanded and updated,the school curriculum construction is subject to many restrictions,and the teaching evaluation mechanism needs to be improved.In the teaching practice of novel excerpts pointing to the entire book,planning and thinking are started from three aspects: teaching content,teaching support,and teaching evaluation mechanism.Based on the stylistic characteristics of the novel,from the four elements of the novel to the hand-crafted elements,the clear teaching content: link back and forth to explore the multi-faceted nature of the characters;look at the overall situation and explore the cause and effect of plot development;run through the book and grasp the deep meaning of the environmental background;Explore the meaning of pluralism.Secondly,provide clear-oriented teaching support: establish intensive reading chapters according to teaching goals;leverage classic reviews to stimulate reading interest;strengthen reading expectations and fill in reading gaps;link similarities and differences,and expand contextual roots.Finally,an effective feedback evaluation mechanism is set up so that evaluation standards are concrete,evaluation forms are diversified,and evaluation subjects are diversified.
