Moral cognition is the initiation and foundation of personal moral character.Moral cognition also is the process of translating symbolic moral knowledge into moral beliefs. It is the foundation of personal's moral emotions,It is the internal impetus to training moral willpower, and determines the trend of personal moral behavior.Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is located on the northwest border of China.Due to its diverse cultural background and special geographical location,it is very urgent to carry out ideological education work for the local people.Ethnic minority children are the strong force of the construction and development of Xinjiang in the future. It is necessary to research the current status of their moral cognition and propose effective strategies. On the one hand,it will help improve the effectiveness of moral education in Xinjiang and the moral cultivation of minority children; On the other hand,it will help achieve the peaceful development in Xinjiang and the unity and solidarity of our country. This article adopts scientific methods of literature research, survey interviews and comparative analysis.Starting from the related concepts and characteristics of minority children and moral cognition.I have proposed the concept of moral cognition on the basis of in-depth study of Marxist development theory,Western cognitive development theory and ideological and political education theory.Moral cognition refers to the personal's perception of moral concepts, the grasp of moral values, the recognition of moral experiences, the judgment and selection of moral phenomena and moral situations, and finally the dynamic process of moral self-examination and personal moral wisdom.According to this definition to design children's moral cognition questionnaire,a comparative study of minority children and Han children from three middle schools in Yili,Xinjiang.Survey results show: Ethnic children's moral cognition has contextual characteristics with colors of "egoism" and "utilitarianism";There are significant differences in the moral cognition of minority children of different ages and parental education levels, showing a positive correlation.Ethnic children show lag in moral cognition than Han children. It is found that the development of moral cognition of minority children is influenced by their own temperament characteristics and intelligence levels. At the same time,it is also influenced by family education concepts and methods and parental cultural quality.Affected by the school's teaching philosophy, teaching information transmission model, teacher quality and peer interaction,it is influenced by the market economy's moral values, social media, and Xinjiang's multicultural background.influences.In this regard, the author believes that the principle of gradual and orderly progress, the principle of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude, the principle of subtlety, and the principle of overall coordination should be followed. On the basis of updating the concept of traditional moral education in the family, campus and society, master specific methods to help children understand the concept of moral cognition, dispel the ambiguity of moral cognition and promote moral internalization. In addition, from the social, campus and family perspectives,we will optimize the moral education environment to promote the development of moral cognition among minority children.
