The Ministry of Education has promulgated new geography curriculum standards for senior education in late 2017.The Standards made some demands on the new geography textbook compilation.Compiling high quality geography textbooks is a very important way to carry out new standards.It can provide a reference for the next round of textbook compilation by reviewing the development of textbooks in the past.Through the research on the evolution of senior high geography textbooks system of PEP since 1990,this research has analyzed the changed characteristics of modes of presentation and the degree of knowledge difficulties,and made recommendations to the textbook compilation.The first part is introduction.Describe the background and significance of this topic,and the research objects.Then it introduces the main research methods.The second part is the reviews of the literature.Define the concepts of the textbook system and the degree of knowledge difficulties in textbooks and then select the textbook knowledge difficulties model.Summarize the research status of textbook system and textbook comparison.The third part from the perspective of the systems of text,image and exercises,analyzes the characteristics of presentation modes and its variation rules.The fourth part elaborates the calculation methods for the knowledge difficulties and analyzes the variation of knowledge difficulties of different themes.Then it gives a summary of integral variation of textbooks during different time periods.The last part is the conclusion and prospect.It discusses the characteristics of the variation of textbook systems since 1990.The new textbooks suggest that the students should be the center in the teaching process.These changes are in correspondence with the pedagogy of constructivism.However,it also requires attention to the problems of simplified conceptual knowledge and the reduction of social investigationand field practice.Then reflect and provide an outlook of the future.
