In order to solve the problem of high absenteeism and low participation in the course of MOOC,the Small Private Online Courses(SPOC)is becoming more and more popular as a new teaching model in colleges and universities.attention.This research investigates the online learning of college English under the mixed learning model of private school(SPOC).Based on the investigation of English majors' online learning participation(surface and in-depth),the study investigated the relevance of learning participation and academic test scores,and the correlation between surface learning participation and in-depth participation,etc.,and then the attribution of online learning participation and academic test scores are explained by Questionnaire and Interview.The research shows that:(1)The participation of college English majors in online learning is generally low,with the deep participation being lower than the level of participation at the surface;(2)There is a moderate positive correlation between the level of participation at the surface and the level of deep participation;(3)The positive correlation between online learning participation and academic test scores is not significant.Questionnaires were used to investigate the influencing factors of online learning participation in all the research subjects.At the same time,interviews were conducted using interviews to investigate the relationship between teachers and students in online learning engagement.The results showed that The influencing factors of student's online learning engagement degree are ranked according to the degree of influence,such as the student's own dimension,teaching media dimension,teaching content dimension,and teacher's dimension;the online learning participation had little effect on academic test scores and was consistent withthe data analysis results of this study.The reason for the weak correlation between the two is mainly from students,teachers,teaching content,and teaching methods.The main influencing factors are student motivation,teacher participation,and platform design.Finally,according to the analysis of the interview results,the author put forward several feasible suggestions for the improvement of online learning participation.
