Relationship Between Research And Development Cooperation Network Connection And Position Of University And Technology Transfer

With the rapid development of global economy and technology and the need of China's economic development and innovation-driven development strategy,technology transfer and commercialization of scientific and technological achievements play an important role to independent innovation,technological innovation ability and construction of innovation-oriented country.As the strong force of achievements transformation and industrialization,universities establish the external cooperation of research and development and build research and development cooperation network to integrate external resources.The importance of collaborative innovation has been paid great attention in academic circles.Based on the resource theory,social network theory,social capital concept and the current situation of university technology transfer research,this paper focuses on the mechanism of research and development cooperation network of universities on technology transfer,and discusses the moderator effect of technology transfer center.This paper regards Chinese universities as the research objection,uses the patent cooperation as a characterization of research and development cooperation to collect and organize sample data,and builds research and development cooperation network.First,this paper carried out preliminary analysis of the affecting factors of university technology transfer and the internal relationship between different factors by conducting the descriptive statistics and correlation analysis on the sample data,and understanding the current situation of university technology transfer in China,the external research and development cooperation,research and development cooperation network and university technology transfer center construction.Second,this paper uses random effect model of the unbalanced panel data to conduct the empirical test about the relationship among network connection,network position,technology transfer center and technology transfer.The results show that,firstly,network connection strength of universities' research and development cooperation and the network connection type of college and enterprise cooperation has significant positive role in promoting technology transfer.The more partners involved in universities' science and technology research and development,the more help to technology transfer;the effect on technology transfer of connection with other organizations is not significant,connection type of universities and company compared to other types is better for technology transfer.Secondly,both degree centrality and betweenness centrality of university have significant positive impact on technology transfer.The universities that are in the center position have more opportunities to establish direct contact with other organizations to promote technology transfer;universities as the intermediary in the network have the stronger power to control and influence knowledge and technology,which is conducive to technology transfer.Thirdly,the quality of technology transfer center has significant positive moderator impact on the relationships between network connection and technology transfer,network position and technology transfer.The higher of the management and service quality of technology transfer center,the more help to play the role of research and development cooperation network on technology transfer.Fourthly,the scale of technology transfer center has significantly inverted u-shaped moderator impact on the relationships between network connection and technology transfer,network position and technology transfer.When the scale of technology transfer center expands to some degree,redundancy structure will bring a series of management problems,which will hinder the acceleration of network connection and network position to technology transfer.The results extend and improve the promotion mechanism of technology transfer,enrich the existing theory and empirical research about university technology transfer,reveal the validity of research and development collaboration and network core position,and have certain reference significance to technology management in universities.
