As one of the targets in Geography Curriculum,geographical practical ability make the teaching practice of geography lean more on practice.Simulation experiment teaching has attract attentions of educators,however,there are many points can be enhanced.By applying literature research method,this thesis defines related theories and concepts;using case study,this paper,under the guidance of New Curriculum,analyzed all kinds of cases in versions of textbooks,with the purposes of finding all the cases of simulation experiment teaching,which was regarded as the important and difficult point in teaching in which changes,dynamics,the correlation of related elements,simulation and comparison as involved.Accordingly,this paper made a comparison between the requirements of the curriculum and the features of teaching.In the end,the current author concluded the teaching contents that suit for the using of simulation method.At the same time,the current author looked for related contents in three key magazines in geography.In the end,the author put forward the weaknesses lie in simulation teaching materials according to the simulation teaching materials in textbooks,magazines and authentic teaching;besides,this research also aims at addressing the problems in experiment that cannot produce desired results;the contradiction in the design of time and teaching practice;and the problem of lacking of all-round-evaluations.Based on Cone of experience,constructivism and activity curriculum and life education,the current research,aiming at solving the problems in simulation teaching,put forward the practice of building simulation experiment and establish an resource base of simulation experiment.Through the choosing materials,room and space,experiment environment and raised transparency,this research targets at improving the effects of simulation experiment.By increasing learner's engagement in experiment,controlling experiment time and specifying teaching model,this study promoted a new way of conducting simulation experiment;moreover,this research also integrates experiment and teaching,experiential learning and summative assessment.The chapter “the formation of mountains” from the book for senior middle school published by People's Education Press suits the contents of this paper,therefore,the current author designed a teaching plan for this chapter,and applies related theories and strategies to outline the effects of simulation teaching.In the last part,the author drew conclusions on the cases and the whole paper,with the hope that it will bring some light to geography teachers.
