Under the background of the new curriculum reform of geography, geographical simulation experiment has been paid more and more attention to by experts and scholars.At present, there are still many problems in the application of geographical simulation experiment, which should be paid attention to by scholars and teachers. The author used the questionnaire survey to analyze the present situation of the senior high school geographical simulation experiment, summed up the existing problems, and discussed the teaching strategies of the geography simulation experiment. This paper hopes to provide references for the high school geography teachers.The research contents of this paper include the following six aspects:The first part elaborates the research background, the significance and research status at home and abroad of the geographical simulation experiment, and propose the research objectives, the contents, the ideas and the methods.The second part defines the connotation of simulation experiment, geography experiment and geographical simulation experiment. Analyzing the theoretical basis of the implementation of high school geography simulation experiment, which includes four aspects: constructivism theory, meta cognitive theory, geography teaching theory and cognitive transfer theory.The third part defines the connotation of the three types of geographical simulation experiments. Putting forward three principles of the application of geographical simulation experiment, which are scientific principle, operational principle and open principle. Summarizing the contents of the simulation experiment in geography compulsory course one by PEP and puts forward some corresponding suggestions.The fourth part analyzes the present situation and problems of the application of the simulation experiment in the teaching of geography in senior high school by using the methods of questionnaire and induction.The fifth part puts forward five corresponding strategies according to the problems in the teaching of high school geographical simulation experiment. The first one is to renew the teaching idea and fully understand the teaching function of geographical simulation experiment. The second one is that geography teachers should improve the literacy of simulation experiment. The third one is to emphasize the dominant position of students during the simulation experiment. The fourth is to all-round develop the geographical simulation experiment resources. The fifth is to realize the combination of the geographical simulation experiment in class and after class.The sixth part summarizes the basic conclusions of this study and puts forward the deficiencies and research prospects.
