A Project Evaluation Research On The Association Of Rural Elderly

The aged have strong demand for social support.Under the background of urbanization,in rural families the offspring are separated from their parents' for a long time.The support given by the family shows a weakening tendency,and this trend is difficult to change in a short term.In this case,it's necessary to build community support for rural elderly.At present,some villages have provided community support for older people through the establishment of the association of the elderly.This article regards one of these practices,the G village elderly association,as a social project,and evaluates it's context,input,process,production.Then analyzes the characteristics and conditions of the elderly association in G village,so as to explore the feasibility and generalizability of this approach to community support for older people.The research adopts interview method and social support theory,mainly uses CIPP evaluation model and adopts other research evaluation framework.The findings show that the elderly association provides opportunities for leisure,recreation,expression,communication and self actualization for older people,and realizes the project's plans;achieves the project goals.A community support network for the elderly in the village has been formed,which can basically meet the needs of older people for expressive support.The community's ability to provide community support for the elderly is enhancing.During the operation of the association,there are also problems such as insufficient coverage of target objects,insufficient daily activities and shortage of funds,and also faces the challenge of keeping the target unchanged in the increasingly complex environment.Based on the analysis of the conditions for the community support for the elderly in the village through the old Association,such as population size and quality,topography,social relations and so on,it can be argued that in the rural areas with similar needs,it is possible to establish and nurture local associations of older persons through social projects to form community support for the elderly and to meet the needs of the elderly.Professional social workers can draw on this experience and give full consideration to the special conditions of the villages in these areas,and play an important role in the implementation of such projects.
