Self-regulated learning which has been emphasized in the key competencies in 21 centries is one of the most essential competences to realize the life-long learning,and it is also the key area for the reform of school education in China.Students' self-regulated learning is not an independent internal procedure,but is closely related to the external environments.Therefore,it is an important task to create an innovative learning environments to promote students' independent thinking,self-efficacy and self-regulated learning.The International Baccalaureate,which is learner-centered is a valuable example for us to explore the relationship between students' self-regulated learning and learning environments.Understanding what kind of learning environmts can effectively promote students' self-efficacy and metacognitive-related behaviours is significant to the improvement of school education efficiency and the cultivation of life-long learners.This study takes The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme as the research object and analyzes the characteristics of learning environmts which could support students' self-regulated learning.First of all,the second chapter systematically reviews the existing research on self-regulated learning from three aspects:classroom tasks,information resources and teaching interaction in the learning environment.Secondly,on the basis of this theory,the third chapter analyzes the content of 100 PYP unit planners to explore the characteristics of PYP classroom tasks that promote students' self-regulated learning from the written curriculum perspectives.In the fourth chapter,one unit of PYP classroom teaching practice is taken as an analysis case to explore and summarize the characteristics of the learning environment that support students' self-regulated learning on the practical curriculum perspective.The study found that the characteristics of PYP learning environment,which support students'self-regulated learning can be elaborated from three aspects.In terms of information resources,physical classroom environment,adequate technical tools and learning materials provide the preconditions for students' autonomous activities.In terms of classroom tasks,the elements which help to promote students' self-regulated learning process include combining students' interests and experience with the learning content,providing students with procedural autonomy support and cognitive autonomy support,non-threatening and comprehensive task evaluation method.In the terms of teaching interaction,teachers' discourses and behaviors,which are related to discussing purpose,explanating meaning,rewards and punishments will also make differences on students'self-regulated learning.
