The People's Republic of China has been and remains in the social spectrum for various reasons including both positive news and negative controversial issues. It has many aspects such as being the second economic power house behind the United States. In 2017,China's GDP increased by 6.9 percent and currently stands with a GDP of$13.2 trillion USD.However, apart from being the second largest economy,China relies on various fundamental policies and regulations to date.Since the establishment of the PRC twelve decades ago,the One-Child Policy and the most current the Universal Two-Child Policy still remain a contentious trending topic for discussion in the country. Some of these policies makes it necessary to examine the overall picture of women when it comes to forming or expanding families to get a clear understanding of some historical events and the Chinese economy that prompted the introduction of some of these policies. For contextual purpose the study will start with Mao Zedong(???)era and move forward to Chairman Xi Jinping(???).It will mainly focus on the following eras;Mao,Li Xiannian(???)also known as Deng Xioping(???),and lastly Chairman Xi.The study will illuminate of these crucial aspects by highlighting women's personal stories on family structure and financial implications throughout the decades by closely focusing on intimate interviews of women in Shanghai. It will use qualitative analysis and employ interviews as the primary data collection technique,in addition to,secondary sources such as articles, publication or government issued official documents as well as any other relevant sources. It will conclude by examining predictions on how the Two-Child Policy can help to step up for the ageing population in the country, improve available workforce, and stimulate domestic consumption in tandem with existing policies and regulations.
