Fundraising Dilemma Of Social Worker Communities

With the strong support of the government,the number of social workers in our country has grown continuously,the service content has become more professional and regional characteristics have begun to take shape.At the same time,the government's purchase of services is no longer able to meet the survival needs of all social workers.In the past,social workers supported by government had urgently needed to change their funding strategies especially in second-and third-tier cities like Wenzhou,social worker agencies have made corresponding efforts in fundraising on government purchases,social donations,and service revenues.However,most social worker organizations in Wenzhou still have a certain financing dilemma,including the lack of funds raised by social workers,inadequate financing conditions,relatively simple fund-raising targets and the form and selection of financing activities that need to be optimized.To explore the reasons,the economic power of the local citizens,the social credibility of the social worker communities,and the shortage of talented people all seriously restrict the social worker community.The K social worker organization in Wenzhou is also in this dilemma.To reply to such fundraising dilemma,the social worker organization has gradually emerged from the unique road on maintaining its own survival and development after years of exploration and efforts.In the case study of the K social worker community,based on the social exchange theory,this article has systematically elaborated the three aspects of the financing conditions,funding targets and fund-raising activities of the social worker community.The study finds that K social workers have made efforts to obtain basic qualifications such as legal funding qualifications,improving their social influence,establishing socially recognized values,and enriching their interpersonal relationships.Later,the agency actively expanded its fundraising targets and changed the old form of fundraising solely relying on government support.It expanded the fundraising targets to groups such as foundations,the public,businesses,and consumers.In the course of carrying out fund-raising activities,the agency used its own advantages to first clarify its own fund-raising goals and service targets,andspecifically carried out various fund-raising activities such as project applications,social donations,street fundraising and the use of online new media.In general,the institution 's excellent experience in fundraising is worth learning by other social workers.Based on the current situation and difficulties of social-funding institutions in such second-and third-tier cities in Wenzhou,according to the analysis of the fund-raising strategies of the social worker communities in K,that social-organization organizations should strengthen Fundamental construction within the organization,expansion of internal and external financing channels,and meeting the exchange needs of fund-raising targets are three areas to optimize social fundraising strategies.
