The Role Analysis Of Social Worker In The Cultivation Of Community Social Organization

Nowadays,our country is at the way stage of being transformed into a well-off society.To realize socialist modernization,strengthening the construction of community governance,mobilizing the enthusiasm of residents,creating a pattern of co-construction and sharing,as well as cultivating community and social organizations are warranted.In the process of carrying out cultivation service in the community,social workers' role is changed as facing expectation of multiple subjects and the various demands of service objects.The author participated in the cultivation of community and social organizations in J Street,Hangzhou City during the internship.The project is aimed to reduce the pressure of the government on community governance,improve the autonomy ability of residents,meet the diversified needs of residents through the establishment of community and social organizations,and achieve the autonomy goal of residents.In the present study,we analyzed the social workers who participated in the cultivation of social organizations in J Street Community using adopts the semi-structured interview method and participatory observation method to study the process of social workers in the cultivation of community and social organizations.We found that social workers played several roles in the process of community and organization cultivation,such as service provider,resource linker,and enabler.Lack of specialization in social work,low participation of residents and heavy task of training institutions in the process of cultivation,led to social workers being trapped in the dilemma of role orientation in participating in the cultivation of community and social organizations.Further,we found that the role dilemma of social workers was mainly caused by the asymmetry of professional literacy and the diversity of expectations of related subjects for social workers.Finally,we offered a new idea for social workers' accurate positioning in the cultivation of community and social organizations from the perspectives of government policies,social workers professional literacy and actual needs.
