Spatial ability is the basic ability of human being in the development of society.Geography mainly studies the relationship between human activities and geographical environment,which has the characteristics of spatial,regional and comprehensive.It plays an important role in developing space ability.As the second language of geography,map is the most commonly used teaching tool in geography teaching.In order to meet the requirements of the development of the times and meet the needs of junior high school students' ability training in geography,teachers should pay attention to the development level of students' geospatial ability and help students to establish the knowledge frame of geography.Cultivate modern middle school students with basic geographical literacy.This research is mainly carried out through the following methods:first,through consulting literature,the author studies the teaching and application of geospatial ability and map at home and abroad,and defines the concept and constituent elements of geospatial capability.Secondly,105 junior middle school students in Qiannan Teachers College of Duyun City were selected to investigate the status of students'geospatial ability by questionnaire survey.To understand the use of maps in the teaching of geography teachers in the school;third,select some of the teaching contents in the geography textbook of the seventh grade,combined with the current junior high school geography curriculum standards,Through teaching experiments,this paper explores how teachers use maps to cultivate students' geospatial ability in junior middle school geography classroom teaching.Through this research,the author puts forward some suggestions on how to cultivate students' geospatial ability by using map in junior high school geography teaching.Firstly,teachers and students should set up a correct view of geography subject and understand the significance of map to the cultivation of geographical spatial ability.Secondly,in the process of teaching,we use map to teach systematically,help students to construct mental map,and promote the development of geospatial ability.Third,geography teachers should strengthen the visual teaching of maps,attach importance to the use of geography multimedia,properly carry out extracurricular activities,and strengthen the relationship between geography knowledge teaching and actual life.Fourth,take a pluralistic approach to junior high school students in the geographical spaceTo evaluate the capacity.
