The 21 st century is a time when life sciences have a rapid development,and it is also a century in which all countries in the world combine science,technology,and society to promote competition for comprehensive national strength.The competition of biotechnological talents has become one of the focuses.Chinese scientist Yang Zhenning once said: “Ninety percent of science is derived from experimental activities,and experiments are the foundation of science.” Therefore,biological experiments can provide students with basic knowledge,but also allow students to understand biological science,technology and society.Relevance between each other enhances the learner's biological science literacy,cultivates talents in biology related occupations,strengthens learners' sense of responsibility for the original ecology and society,and promotes the development of productivity.This is also one of the basic concepts of the new curriculum standards.Junior high school biology is a discipline that mainly explores the phenomena,essences,and activities of life.At the same time,it can have knowledge of human life sciences and cultivate talents in biological sciences.Moreover,biology is a basic experimental strong discipline.A large part of teaching is dependent on experiments.It is an auxiliary method and scientific inquiry method commonly used in teaching activities.The basic requirement of new curriculum standards and curriculum plans is also to conduct more exploratory experiments in junior high school to improve students' scientific literacy,develop students' comprehensive ability,strict scientific spirit,and experimental attitude of seeking truth from facts.It can be seen that the implementation of biological experiment teaching plays an important role in biology teaching.At present,with the increase in basic education investment,the comprehensiveness of basic education reforms,the improvement of school infrastructure,the enhancement of teachers' continuing education,and the improvement in the development of biological education.The author review a master's thesis which is the research on the Hohhot City junior high school biology experimental teaching status quo,has not yet seen the Hohhot County Banner survey research papers published.Therefore,the author mainly focused on Qingshuihe County,which is one of the cities in Hohhot,taking the current status of experimental biology teaching.In the case of more than a decade of reform of the new curriculum standard,359 students and 9 teachers from three middle schools were surveyed to reflect the current biological experiment teaching.The analysis and research of the data show that:(1)Since the implementation of the new curriculum,77.78% of the leaders of the school have attached importance to the experimental class,and the laboratory teaching facilities are relatively complete.(2)88.89% of the biology teachers were able to carry out effective biological experimental teaching in accordance with the concept of the new curriculum standard,combined with the existing local environmental resources,and the outreach rate of inquiry experiments and demonstration experiments reached 77.78%.(3)Evaluation methods are gradually varied,and most students prefer biological experiment classes.The main problems are:(1)52.65% of teachers have experiment classes in the class.(2)100% of biological experimenters are part-time by biology teachers.(3)The seventh grade of each school is two hours per week.The class time is the fourth in the morning or the first and eighth in the afternoon.(4)100% of teachers' genders are female,and male teachers' share is 0%.(5)100% of teachers have a first degree as a specialist.(6)In the past three years,66.67% of biology teachers did not participate in training outside.Suggestions on the status quo of biology teaching in junior middle schools in Qingshuihe County: first,restore the experimental examination and include the results in the total score of the examination;second,increase the openness of the laboratory;third,increase the biological experiment time;fourth,equipped with professional biological experimenters to promote effective teaching;Fifth,change the gender structure of teachers and promote the effective conduct of experiments;Sixth,improve the academic qualifications of teachers and improve the quality of experimental teaching;Seventh,improve the continuing education of teachers and improve teaching quality.
