Biological science is one of the compulsory foundations to the natural science subjects. It is a science which research in life phenomenon and the rules of life activity. The formation and development of the biological science is based on biological experiment. It's also the basic means to explore the life activities. So Biological experiment teaching is the important part of high school biology teaching. Biological experiment is the foundation of the whole biology teaching. It can stimulate students'interests in learning, it's the important way for the students to acquire knowledge, it can cultivate students'various ability, and help students to master the correct learning methods. It's also an important way to carry out the quality-oriented education. In a word, biological experiment plays a very important role in biological teaching.Today in China, we are having a new round of reforms in new curriculum of high schools. The new curriculum concept put forward that we should "improve the students'biological scientific literacy". Therefore, to enhance biological experiment teaching is to meet the needs of the new curriculum reform, is the fundamental way to implement quality-oriented education earnestly, and is finally the important guarantee to promote the comprehensive development of students.To understand the new curriculum biological experiment teaching situation, we take the city of Nan Yang, Henan province where the author works as the research site. we do a series of investigations.By using literature data method, questionnaire, interview and so on many kinds of methods to investigate the biological, experiment teaching situationin of the 42 High Schools in NanYang. It includes teacher's experimental teaching content and related scientific research, and the research of teachers'emotional attitude toward the experimental teaching. And also according to the students'study situation in biology, to evaluate teachers'teaching or self experiment skill evaluation and so on many aspects of research. And also use the mathematical statistics methods to analysis the results statistically.The investigation indicated that the fundamental education steadily developed, persons qualitified to teach and level were more strength, the teaching level and methods have improved greatly, the level of biology teaching and experiment are improving, all these will promote the reform of new curriculum.Through the comprehensive analysis we found that there are some problems in biology experimental teaching:(1) Biological experimental teaching conditions cannot meet the need of the experiments, and the urban-rural disparity is big; (2)Some schools and teachers understand the importance of biological experiment inadequately; (3) Biology teachers'teaching concept needs to be changed, it doesn't adapt the new curriculum concept; (4) Some schools are short in teachers and laboratory technician, and the teachers'professional level needs to be improved too; (5) The arrangements and managements of experimental teaching is not reasonable; (6) The usage of experimental teaching resources needs to be optimization, etc.To solve the problems in biology experimenal teaching, the author puts forward some suggestions and countermeasures:(1) Change ideas, strengthen the recognition of the importance of biological experiment; (2) Improve the professional quality of biology teachers; (3) Arrange the biological experiments reasonably, to provide enough time for experimental teaching; (4) Conform to the new curriculum reform, all the biology teachers should update their education concept; (5) Develop the biological experiment teaching resources.This study provide theoretical basis for high schools and biology teachers in experimental teaching, provides reference materials for education decision-making departments, and also provides a theoretical basis for the new round curriculum textbooks reforms which are implementing, it can play an important role in promoting the implementation of the new curriculum.
