The Ministry of Education promulgated the new biology curriculum standards for senior school in July, 2003. The four province including Guangdong, Shandong, Ningxia, Hainan started to carry out this curriculum standard in September, 2004. The Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region that was the fifth batch of new curriculum standards reform began to test this standard in 2008. The high schools came into the new curriculum reform in Xinjiang. So far,the new curriculum reform has been implemented for seven years when the new biological curriculum standard was implemented in senior school. As is known to all, economic development is not balanced in Xinjiang region including southern and border. Allocation of educational resources is maladjusted, especially in the city of Kashgar that is located in the southern of Xinjiang, with a large of population, economic development is lagging behind,education resources are relatively scarce.In order to understand biological teachers ’team, experimental teaching condition,cognition and demand of students in biological experiment, the opening of experimental teaching content and experimental teaching effect. This paper adopts questionnaire method and interview.From the three levels of basic education management department, biological teachers and students, investigating the present situation of biological experimental teaching in four senior school in Kashgar. The survey data is analyzed by SPSS statistical software. On the basis of the analysis results and the comprehensive literature data, the main problems in the teaching of biological experimental teaching were summarized in Kashgar, the countermeasures and suggestions of improving the teaching effect of biological experiment and the cultivation of students’ comprehensive quality are put forward in high school of Kashgar, providing reference for basic education management department and school management.The survey results show that the high school biological experimental teaching is under development, and has gain great progress in Kashgar. Biological experimental teaching condition has been considerably improved, 90.0% of senior schools have established biological laboratories; Biological experimental apparatus and drug are equipped which can meet the need of many experiments, only 9.1% of the schools are not equipped with experimental instruments and drugs. The biological teachers’ understanding of the experiment teaching is also increasing,the students like the biological experiment, which is undoubtedly reflecting the positivesignificance of the biological experimental teaching. Through the analysis of the questionnaire of biological teachers and students in senior school of Kashgar, we conclude that the overall situation of biological experimental teaching is relatively poor. The reasons mainly include that the importance of biological experimental teaching is not comprehensive; the biological teachers’ experimental teaching behavior needs to be improved; the biological experimental teaching is in bad condition; the evaluation system of experimental teaching is not perfect. So, on the basis of relevant education departments, school management departments, biological teachers, students,and other different perspectives, the suggestions and countermeasures are put forward, including that establishing a high quality of teaching faculty; ensuring the smooth development of biological experimental teaching; paying attention to the development of experimental curriculum resources; improving the evaluation system of biological experimental.
