At present,China's rapid economic growth has become a powerful engine for world economic growth.After more than 30 years of hard work,China has become the world's second largest economy after the United States.However,the rapid economic development has also brought about more serious environmental problems.China is considered to be one of the most polluted countries in the world.Air pollution and water pollution have affected people's daily lives.In the face of serious environmental problems,the party and country attach great importance to the introduction of the policy of “Speed up the reform of the ecological civilization system and Building Beautiful China”.This is an important measure for China to achieve sustainable development.However,to solve the problem of environmental pollution,relying solely on the government's administrative power is still far from enough,and it requires the participation of the whole nation in a broad and effective manner.Adults are the largest group engaged in production and management,and they are also an important force for environmental protection.Promoting the development of adult environmental education is one of the countermeasures to deal with current environmental pollution.Therefore,vigorously carrying out adult environmental education is a basic project that promotes the construction of ecological civilization in China,and it is a top priority for achieving sustainable development.This research is guided by the theory of sustainable development and uses adult pedagogy,environmental pedagogy,and other related theories.It adopts literature research methods,case studies,and interviews to analyze the necessity of developing adult environmental education,the present situation of adult environmental education in Baoding City,and the existing problems and influencing factors.Learning from the relevant studies of sustainable development,we will try to explore the dimension and practical mechanism of adult environmental education in the perspective of sustainable development,and initially propose feasible measures for promoting environmental education in order to promote the smooth development of adult environmental education.The structure of this study includes the following aspects.The first chapter is the introduction,including the research origin,purpose and significance,literature review,technical route,research focus,difficulty and innovation.The second chapter is the explanation of related concepts and theoretical basis.The third chapter mainly selects a typical city,Baoding,selects the target for in-depth interviews,analyzes the necessity of adult environmental education in Baoding City,understands the effectiveness of adult environmental education,and analyzes existing problems and influencing factors.The fourth chapter is based on the interpretation of relevant literature,using Lucas environmental education model as a guide to explore the dimensions of adult environmental education in the perspective of sustainable development.Based on this,we will further analyze the development of adult environmental education in Baoding City.Based on the existing literature and current situation analysis,the fifth chapter attempts to construct the practical mechanism of adult environmental education in the perspective of sustainable development.Based on the analysis of the above chapters,the sixth chapter proposes concrete strategies for the promotion of adult environmental education from the angles of government,community,society and media and so on.
