Research On Sustainable Development Of Adult Higher Education

It is an inevitable requirement for sustainable development of adulthigher education to build a lifelong education system and get into alearning society. At present, however, all aspects of adult highereducation in China revealed some problems and shortcomings, such asthe unscientific management, location unknown, and so on, and theseproblems seriously affect the sustainable development of adult highereducation. This thesis, through empirical investigation, analyzes mainreasons for these problems, and comes out the four developmentstrategies on the basis of SWOT analysis, and gives some suggestions forthe sustainable development of adult higher education.The main content of the paper is consisted of four parts. The first partanalyzes the development of adult higher education history in China andsums up the main features and the primal problem of adult highereducation in the development process. According to adult highereducation developing status at present, sustainable development is surelychoice for adult higher education. The second part takes adult highereducation in several universities in Fujian for example, through empiricalinvestigation for implementation of adult higher education and gets theconclusion that adult higher education didn’t keep with the sustainabledevelopment, and then analyzes the cause of formation. The third part, onthe basis of analyzing with current situation and history of adult highereducation, thinks about establishing development strategy of sustainabledevelopment to meet the need of the development, on the basis of theanalysis of the history and current status of adult higher education, andanalyzes sustainable development of adult higher education, throughSWOT analyzing adult higher education of the strengths and weaknessesand the opportunities and threats. The fourth part is suggestions and countermeasures, which are adult higher education for sustainabledevelopment for strategic choice.
