The rural college students refer to college students who have rural household registration and their families are in rural areas before entering the university. The willingness of returning to hometown refers to the psychological tendency of college students returning to hometown for employment in rural areas.According to investigation, rural college students are not strongly willing to return to their hometowns. On the contrary, they tend to be employed in urban areas. They prefer to working in state institutions or state-owned enterprises. In addition, their willingness to start their own business is also strong. There are both promoting and hindering factors affecting rural college students' willingness to return to their hometowns for employment. The key drivers are taking care of parents and loving hometown.Obstacles include lower income, narrower employment platforms and poorer infrastructure in rural areas.According to investigation, both variable factors--rural college students' subjective evaluation towards economic development of their hometown and parental support are correlated to their willingness of returning to hometown for employment; For non-only children families, there is a correlation between the number of children and their willingness to return to hometown; The willingness is obviously distinct because of the hometown location, sexual orientation and marital status.Meanwhile, compared to non-cadre students, rural college students who have held the post of student cadres are more reluctant to return to hometown.Furthermore, some rural college students even encounter cultural conflicts after returning to hometown.Severely, underdevelopment and inconvenience in rural areas negatively affect the willingness of rural college students returning to hometown and traditional stereotypes has significant impact on their career choice and life style of rural college students. There are thus three suggestions at the end--building employment platform for graduates who returned hometown, improving civil infrastructure of rural areas, establishing healthy and tolerant gender perception.
