The Research Of The Role Conflict Of Internship Social Workers In Community Service

Social practice is an important part of the professional education of social work.Community as the basic unit of government administration,to absorb lots of professional social workers.Many universities corporate with the community,to let the students go to the community as a internship social worker,to carry out professional services for the residents.However,internship social workers act as a variety of roles in the community service,such as students,interns and professional social workers,and facing the neighborhood committee,residents and social work agencies,which have diffirent interests.It’s easy to lead to role conflict problems,and make some challenges to the professional service quality,to a certain extent affected the professional social work practice Identity and professional growth.This article takes the social role theory,combined with the author in the community for a period of 5 months of professional social work services,using the method of qualitative research,interviewing the 8 community internship social workers and 5 community staff interviewers,collected relevant research datas,to discuss the social work practice in the community service role conflict the problem.This paper analyzes the performances and impacts of the role conflict of internship social workers.The specific performances of role conflict includes conflict within roles and conflict between roles.The conflict between roles include conflicts between multiple roles and role play,multiple roles and role specification requirements.The conflict within roles include conflicts of role expects,role abilities and role practices.The role conflict influence on internship social workers,social work practice and the professional social work practice education.Finally making the reflection and summary,community intership is relatively difficult.Social workers inevitably have a conflict of roles,which can result disadvantage,but it can be a advantage.The main purpose of the article is to cause the attention of the MSWcommunity interns,and the Univercity can be able to take the corresponding measures to help internship social workers reduce the role conflict,improve and perfect the practice of MSW education in China’s colleges and universities,so as to improve the quality of community services.
