Workplace learning is a hot topic in the development of current international vocational education.Our country is actively promoting the construction of modern apprenticeship,and it is urgent to learn from the internatioanl workplace learning theoretical thought and practical experience.At present,there have been many achievements in the study of international workplace learning issues,which are mainly to introduce the thought and experience of a certain country.This thesis attempts to research the thought of an influential scholar in the field of international workplace learning.Stephen Billett,a professor of adult and professional education college at Griffith University in Australia,is an influential scholar in the study field of contemporary workplace learning.Since the 1990 s,Stephen Billett has spent 20 years to make empirical research on workplace learning of many professions and industries,including the coal industry,food processing,clothing manufacturing,beauty salon industry,medical care,teachers' professional learning,and other professions and industries.His workplace learning ideas are reflected in the large number of conference records,research reports,papers and books written on the basis of the research.This thesis mainly uses the literature research method,the system analysis method and the interview method to make systematic generalization and deep exploration and practical reflection of the thought of Stephen Billett.It is expected to provide reference from the concept,system and action level for the development and reform of Vocational Education in China.In the first part,mainly discusses the origin and significance of this study,the research train of thought and the used method,and defineing the core concepts and reviewing the related researches both at home and abroad.In the second part,mainly discusses how the Stephen's workplace learning thought is formed and developed.Specifically,analyzing from three aspects including historical background of studying,academic background and the theoretical basis.At last,introduce the formation and development stage of Stephen's workplace learning thought.In the third part,mainly analyzes the main structure of the workplace learning thought of Stephen Billett,incuding conceptual premise,the goal of workplace learning,workplace learning essence,the two elements of and main forms workplace learning implementation,learning supporting conditions and workplace curriculum ideas and organization and management of workplace learning.Workplace learning ultimate goal is to form expertise in the certain vocational field.Workplace learning is realized by two interdependent factors: workplace affordance and individual engagemnet.Workplce learning is mainly embodied in the form of guiding learning.Workplace learning support conditions including practical curiculum,practical pedagogy,practical epistemology.In the fourth part,mainly put forward enlightenment of Stephen Billett workplace learning thought to the reform of vocational education development of our country,and is stated from the changing of learning concept,the improvement of the system,the implementation of teaching action three aspects.
