Yanbian is the largest Korean settlement in China,and Chinese education is very important.Good Chinese education can not only lay a solid foundation for students to learn in the future,but also provide convenience for their future work.Chinese teaching includes basic knowledge,oral communication,writing and reading,and reading which includes in-class reading and extracurricular reading.However,since Chinese is the second language of Korean students,it is difficult to learn or teach.Compared with Han schools,Korean students lack a good language environment.For Korean students,the most accessible way to get to Chinese is to read.Chinese extracurricular reading has always been the focus and difficulty in Chinese teaching.A survey of six Korean middle schools in Yanji City was conducted,and 418 questionnaires were distributed and 404 valid questionnaires were returned.The paper investigates and studies the extracurricular reading of teachers and students,trying to solve the problem that teachers' evaluation is on the surface,students' Chinese proficiency is uneven,students do not set reading goals and plans,and reading methods are single.The survey results show that the extra-curricular reading of the eighth grade of Yanji City has achieved certain results.For example,each school has a school-based curriculum for reading,and the library of each school can guarantee more than 20,000 books,Chinese teachers pay attention to their reading,and parents support for students'reading.This paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,including the purpose and significance of the research,the research status,and the definition of the main concepts and so on.The second chapter is the theoretical basis for the extracurricular Chinese reading of Korean junior high school.The third chapter and the fourth chapter are the main parts of the paper,and the third chapter is the investigation and analysis of the current situation of extracurricular reading.The fourth chapter analyzes from two aspects of effectiveness and concludes that the teachers'guidance,evaluation,students' goals and plans,strict implementation of plans,and frequent reading by parents will have a positive impact on students' extracurricular reading.In addition,the reading effect does not increase with the increase of reading time.The reading effect is best in 15-30 minutes,and the effect will be greatly reduced when the reading time exceeds 30 minutes.The fifth chapter puts forward relevant suggestions from the four aspects of schools,teachers,students and families.On the school side,it is recommended to strengthen the construction of the library,support the students' extracurricular reading,and regularly formulate extracurricular reading programs.In addition to some routine advice from the teacher side,suggestions are made for the special circumstances of Korean schools;students are recommended to develop reading interests,improve their Chinese proficiency through communication,develop good reading habits,strictly implement reading plans,and learn to use a variety of reading methods.Parents are advised to create a good reading atmosphere at home,create a good Chinese environment and monitor students' reading progress in a timely manner.Through the above suggestions,I hope to provide some reference for the improvement of the extracurricular reading level of the eighth grade Korean students in Yanji City.
