Colleges and universities counsellor system in China had been through over 60 years of difficult process.Built in early fifties,became precarious during the Cultural Revolution at sixties,government finally decide to reestablished the system at eighties.Till the opening up in the 1990s,the system of the counselors began to move towards professionalism,and has become increasingly mature and standardized nowadays.Without specific conceptualize,vocational college counsellor system is been at an disadvantage situation,"non-teacher"?"non-administrative staff" provide an embarrassing situation to counselors.Blurred boundary at work post and indefinable identity,which directly resulted no work belongingness and lack of initiative in work.Taking Hunan Communication Polytechnic as example for this paper,The existence of Vocational College Counselors occupation development problems were analyzed,found that facing the confusion and development problem of the occupation of counselors in Higher Vocational Colleges in the professional technology promotion and job stress,turnover,job promotion,education and occupation and the double qualified.Based on these problems,this paper proposes improvement from five aspects:1 is to enhance the awareness of the development of counselors,2 is to improve their professional skills,3 is to enhance their occupation accomplishment,4 is to enhance the psychological quality of college instructors,5 is to improve the ability to obtain employment.This paper enriches the existing theory of career development of vocational colleges,provides theoretical references for the later study.Analysis practical problems helps career development of vocational colleges,also provide a practice reference for how to build vocational college counselors' team.
