After the new curriculum reform concept was put forward,higher requirements were put forward for the improvement of students' reading ability,and more attention was paid to the cultivation of students' information screening and integration ability in reading.Therefore,it is more urgent to break through the shackles of textbooks,effectively integrate teaching resources and pay attention to the teaching methods of cultivating students' reading ability in Chinese teaching.The high school stage is an important stage to cultivate students' Chinese ability,and the teaching of modern novels is an important part of the Chinese teaching in the high school stage.In the face of a large number of reading materials,how to screen out the content in line with the reading of high school students and how to organize the materials to promote the realization of teaching objectives are all worth teachers' thinking.Thematic reading teaching can provide a new way for teachers to solve relevant problems.For the teaching of modern novel reading in senior high school,it is not only a renewal of teaching form,but also a development of teaching concept.Based on the current status of academic research,in this study,on the basis of Chinese textbooks for high schools are applied to the modern novel teaching exploration project reading strategy,research mainly has the following three aspects:one is a whole overview of modern novel reading project,including the connotation of the teaching methods and rich in content,evaluation of intensive attention to the learning process and more fit curriculum standard request,effective reorganization of teaching resources and other characteristics;The second is to explore the strategy of applying thematic reading to the teaching of modern novels.Taking the article "border town" as an example,the differences between thematic reading and traditional single reading in teaching philosophy,cultivation of students' Chinese literacy,teaching evaluation methods and other aspects are explored to highlight the advantages ofthematic reading.The third is to explore the Suggestions of applying thematic reading to modern novels.Based on attaching importance to this teaching method,the teaching process of modern novels should pay attention to promoting the combination of reading and writing in students' Chinese learning,cultivating students' independent reading habits,building up their awareness of problems in novel reading,etc.,so as to deepen the understanding of thematic reading teaching.This study takes improving and enriching the teaching methods of modern novels as the starting point,taking the teaching design of "border town" as an example,compares the teaching of thematic reading with that of single reading,and discusses the differences between the two teaching methods in teaching content and process,classroom status of teachers and students,and teaching evaluation methods.In the process of this comparative study,it highlights the advantages of thematic reading teaching in improving the current situation of modern novel teaching,integrating teaching resources and promoting the overall improvement of Chinese literacy,and discusses the significance of thematic reading teaching to modern novel teaching.
