Since the promulgation of the edition of 2017 of the new curriculum standard,“reading and discussing of the whole book” has become the focus of reading teaching,but at present,it is still in the stage of exploration.This thesis takes four ordinary senior high schools in Qinan County,Gansu Province as research subjects.The results show that although students are interested in the genre of novel,they are indifferent to the long novel and even if some students have finished reading a whole long novel,but their understanding still in a superficial state.On the other hand,the teachers ignore the teaching guidance of the whole novel reading,because most of the teachers only pay attention to the teaching of the selected articles of the long novel in the teaching material,and ignore the concrete teaching strategy of “reading and discussing of the whole book” to the long novel.These are contrary to the related ideas that the edition of 2017 of the new curriculum considers “reading and discussing of the whole book” as a learning task group.In order to better practice the requirements of the new curriculum standard,it is a problem that teachers how to instruct students to read the whole novel efficiently,and construct the strategy of “reading and discussing of the whole book”.Although the idea of reading the whole book has a long history,many famous scholars and frontline teachers in the field of Chinese education are also actively exploring,leaving us with valuable practical experience.However,how to guide students to read and discuss the whole book has not been solved substantively.In view of the above problems,according to the characteristics of the whole book reading teaching,combined with the results of the investigation,this thesis tries to explore the effective teaching strategies of “reading and discussing of the whole book” to the long novel.It mainly starts from three aspects: the excitement before reading,the guidance in reading and the evaluation of reading effect.These three aspects are from the shallow and the deep,from the surface to the inside,and link each other,so as to form a complete chain.In the early stage,students are encouraged to express their reading feelings and carry out diverse activities to stimulate students' interest in novel reading through questioning and guiding;In the mid-term,the author plans and arranges the course and hours of study,and designs relevant tables to help students form reading ideas;At the later stage,specific evaluation criteria are designed,proper evaluation methods and multiple evaluation subjects are used to urge students to complete the reading of the whole book.This thesis takes “Dream of Red Mansions” as a study case to confirm the above-mentioned viewpoints,and try to provide an operational teaching strategy for the “reading and research of the whole book” of high school long novel.
