The Chinese Curriculum Standards of Compulsory Education(2011 Edition)emphasizes that writing ability is a comprehensive manifestation of Chinese literacy. In this information age, people are more and more inseparable from writing.Improving writing ability can not only promote comprehensive learning ability such as reading ability, comprehension ability, communication ability and expression ability, but also plays an active role in mastering daily Chinese knowledge, learning Chinese learning methods, cultivating Chinese learning ability and developing humanistic literacy. However, the level of compulsory education in rural primary schools is far lower than that in urban areas. It is difficult for schools in rural areas to compare with those in urban areas in terms of teaching quality, teaching facilities and other indicators. But what is more far-reaching is the difference of educational content itself and the difference of teachers'level. Therefore,it is of great significance to pay attention to the writing ability of senior students in rural primary schools and improve their writing level. This study adopts a combination of quantitative research and qualitative research.According to The Chinese Curriculum Standards of Compulsory Education(2011Edition),the questionnaire dimensions are divided into four dimensions:expression ability, concept ability, accumulation material ability and modification ability. Then, the questionnaire was constructed with four dimensions as the questionnaire structure. The questionnaire survey on the writing ability of senior students in rural primary schools was conducted. The senior students of rural primary schools in F County of Chongqing were investigated. Finally, five language teachers in the county were interviewed in depth.Based on the analysis of the collected data, the conclusion is drawn:An exploratory factor analysis of 150 questionnaires for senior students in r ural primary schools and a confirmatory factor analysis of 310 rural primary sch ool students as formal samples were conducted. The four dimensional consistency reliability coefficients ranged from 0.63 to 0.76,and the overall reliability coeffi cient of the questionnaire was 0.87.Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the fit of the four dimensions was better.(x~2/f=1.71,SRMR=0.05,GFI=0.88,CFI=0.86,IFI=0.86,TLI=0.84)The results of the questionnaire survey show that the average scores of primary school students in the ability to express and accumulate material capacity are lower, and training needs to be strengthened. Moreover, there are significant differences in the writing ability of senior students in different grades, genders and expressions. The ability of sixth-grade students to think is significantly higher than that of fifth-grade students. The ability of girls to express, conceive and accumulate materials is significantly higher than that of boys. The student's whispering is unwilling to write down. The interview results show that the teacher teaching method is too modeled and deviates from the students'actual life.In the process of teaching, the teacher's attitude towards students'writing is not correct, and the phenomenon of poor writing quality is not solved by appropriate methods. And the students'overall writing interest is not high, writing habits are poor, and attitudes are extremely unsatisfactory.Through questionnaires and interviews,it is shown that improving the writing ability of senior elementary school students in rural areas needs to put forward corresponding solutions in the students'ability to express, conceive, accumulate materials, modify their ability, writing interest and teachers'writing teaching methods. The phenomenon is targeted to solve the problem,in order to provide teachers with effective writing teaching suggestions and measures to improve the writing level of senior students in rural primary schools.
