A person's way of thinking will determine his behavior and mood.At this stage, the thinking form of primary school children has changed from concrete image to abstract logic, and the fifth and sixth grade students have preliminary dialectical thinking ability. However, the special and important life events experienced by orphans in their infancy will have a great impact on their interpretation style, especially on the permanent, universal and intrinsic interpretation of some bad things. This study fully combines the characteristics of primary school children's thinking development, through group counseling for primary school orphans in sixth grade,to promote them to form a correct and rational optimistic interpretation style in the critical period. The questionnaire used in this study is Children's Interpretation Style Questionnaire, which was compiled by Seligman. The questionnaire was divided into six dimensions: PMB,PVB,PSB,PMG,PVG and PSG,with 0 and 1 scores. Before group counseling, all fifth and sixth grade students were pretested to investigate the status of explanatory styles of orphans in senior primary schools, and to test the homogeneity of the experimental class and the control class.Subsequently, the experimental class was given group counseling for 2 months, once a week,a total of 8 times.During this period, according to the syllabus of the control class, the normal mental health class. After group counseling, the experimental class and the control class were tested and delayed, and the data were analyzed. The following conclusions were drawn:(1)The explanatory style of orphans in the senior grade of primary school is lower than the average level and is in a very pessimistic state.(2)The explanatory style of sixth grade students is more pessimistic than that of fifth grade students;there is no significant difference between boys and girls in explanatory style, but girls tend to be more optimistic than boys in explanatory style.(3)Group counseling has a certain effect on the cultivation of optimistic explanatory style of experimental class students, and the delayed posttest data also prove that the effect has a certain delay.
