After the introduction of "China's students' development core qualities",learning to learn was included in the core qualities that middle school students must possess.To enable students to have the ability to learn for life,students must learn to study independently.It is better to give fish as fish." Reading is an important way for people to acquire knowledge and understand the world.It profoundly affects the improvement of students' quality and their ability to learn independently.The facts show that students who have good reading habits have more exuberant curiosity than other students,and they have stronger enthusiasm and self-awareness of learning and a higher ability to acquire knowledge and information.Therefore,improving reading ability becomes an important way for students to acquire knowledge.Cultivating students' self-learning ability can start from cultivating students' reading ability.Over time,it will be transformed into a solid foundation for students' life-long learning and meet the development philosophy of core qualities.This article takes the students of SY Middle School as the survey object and investigates the current status of junior high school students' biological reading ability.The survey results show that: at this stage,students lack interest in biological learning,and students' ability to study independently and self-retrieve knowledge is low.Not high,too much depends on the teacher's teaching and supervision,while the teacher also lacks the necessary reading guidance for students,and the emphasis on biological reading is not enough.The current teaching methods are mainly "indoctrination",which will have an effect on improving students' academic performance in the short term.However,looking at the big picture,they cannot effectively improve students' ability to study independently and acquire self-knowledge.This is serious.Affected students' future development.In order to effectively improve students' biological reading ability and further enhance students' ability to learn independently,which will lay the foundation for future lifelong learning.This paper adopts a teaching method of reading teaching and has conducted a two-class study for students with similar reading ability and similar performance for one semester experimental teaching.Different strategies were adopted in the experiment teaching.The students were guided by reading interests and reading habits.The reading methods were specifically guided and the students' independent reading ability was strengthened,which leads the students gradually form their own reading interests and reading habits and master certain reading methods and techniques.The experimental results show that: After using the teaching method of reading teaching,the two classes with relatively little difference in performance have obvious gaps.Students in the experimental class have developed a keen interest in learning biology,and their ability of reading biology is also higher than before.A lot of progress has been made.Compared with the biological performance of the first monthly exam,in the final exam,the increase in the biological performance of experimental class is obvious.In summary,the rational application of teaching methods in reading teaching to junior high school biology teaching can help students improve their interest in learning biology.It can be of great help for students to improve their biological reading ability and improve their biological performance and is an effective teaching method.
