Purpose The purposes of the study are to observe the effect of the 8-week Electrical Muscle Stimulation(EMS)combined with regular physical training on body composition changes of adult females,to find out the relationship between the electrode positions, intensity of the stimulation and the outcome of the intervention, which thus can provide a practice guide for electric muscular stimulation training.Method1.Objects: 30 adult females aged from 20-39 in Shanghai were divided into control group(group C)and muscle electrical stimulation combined with routine training group(C+E group),15 in each group.11 subjects in group C and 15 subjects ingroup C+E completed the study.2.Exercise program: Subjects in group C used weight-training course, exercise intensity using 60% to 90% of maximum heart rate, training twice a week,30 minutes each time,a total of 8 weeks of training;subjects in the group C+E wearing electric muscular stimulation clothing, while receiving electric muscular stimulation(30Hz,300?s,1:3 on-off ratio),the same training protocol as the group C was performed. The electrode sheets of the energy coat are placed on the upper limb, the trunk and the lower limb of the subject's body,respectively.3.Observational indicators: The observation on the training before, during and after the body composition(body weight, body fat percentage, body fat, upper limb fat, trunk fat, lower limb fat,fat-free body weight, skeletal muscle percentage, skeletal muscle content, upper limb skeletal muscle, trunk skeletal muscle, lower limb skeletal muscle and basal metabolism)and circumference index(waist circumference, hip circumference, upper arm circumference)of the two groups were measured. The pulse intensity of each part of the muscle stimulation of the C+E group was recorded in each training course.4.Statistical methods: SPSS 22.0 was used for statistical analysis.Differences in body composition indicators between different groups and before, during and after training were analyzed by repeated measures analysis of variance.Partial correlation analysis was carried out between the change values ??of various body components and the pulse intensity of each part, and p<0.05 indicates that the statistics were significant.Results1.After 8 weeks of training, the percentage of body fat, whole body fat and local fat in group C+E were significantly lower than those in the first test(p<0.05),and there was no significant change in group C(p>0.05).The difference between groups was significant(p<0.05).2.After 8 weeks of training, the skeletal muscle and local skeletal muscle content ofthe group C+E were significantly increased compared with the first test(p<0.05),and the upper limb skeletal muscle content of the group C was significantly lower than the first test(p<0.05).There were no statistically significant changes in other indicators(p>0.05).Compared with the group C,the skeletal muscles of the whole body skeletal muscle, upper limb skeletal muscle and trunk skeletal muscle were significantly increased compared with the group C(p<0.05).3.There was a negative correlation between trunk pulse intensity and changes in body fat, upper limb fat, trunk fat and lower limb fat(r values were-0.708,-0.661,-0.850,-0.578,p<0.05).There was a positive correlation between trunk pulse intensity and weight loss(r=0.616,p<0.05).The pulse intensity of lower limbs was negatively correlated with the changes of body fat content and lower limb fat content(r values were-0.624,-0.740,p<0.05).4.The trunk pulse intensity is divided into "20-30 intensity"(group C+E1)and "30-40intensity"(group C+E2),after 8 weeks of electric muscular stimulation combined with routine training, the effect of group C+E2 on body fat content,fat-free body weight, upper limb fat, trunk fat and lower limb fat content was higher than that of group C+E1(p<0.05).In the first 4 weeks, the pulse intensity of the trunk of the C+E2group was particularly evident in the improvement of body fat percentage, trunk fat and lower limb fat.Conclusion1.8 weeks of electric muscular stimulation combined with conventional training can significantly reduce the whole body fat, local body fat content and waist-to-hip ratio of adult women, effectively increase the body skeletal muscle, local skeletal muscle content, and improve basal metabolismcompared with conventional training. It is suggested that electric muscular stimulation training can promote the health management of adult women.2.The trunk pulse of electric muscular stimulation is highly correlated with the change of fat content in various parts. It is suggested that the pulse stimulation of the trunk part can be emphasized when carrying out muscle electrical stimulation training in the future, and it is better to control the pulse intensity at 30-40.
