The National Medium and Long-Term Education Reform and Development Plan(2010-2020)advocates students to actively participate and be willing to explore in the process of learning.Students’ interest in learning should be paid more attention,so that they could develop a positive learning attitude and focus on training students’ divergent thinking and ability to solve problems.The Information Technology Curriculum Standards for Basic Education(2012)proposes that the teaching content of information technology in the compulsory education stage should start from the interest of students and use activities as a carrier to let students "learning from playing" and "learning from doing." Through classroom observation,literature research and interviews,this study found that in the process of information technology classroom,some students lack learning interest and learning motivation,classroom learning behavior and poor learning status,resulting in low efficiency of information technology learning.Introducing gamification into classroom can effectively stimulate students’ learning motivation,improve the efficiency of information technology classrooms,and realize the learning by edutainment.Based on gamification theory,situated learning theory and activity design theory,this study starts from the status quo and subject characteristics of middle school information technology pedagogy,with the analysis of the key elements of middle school information technology instruction and gamification,aiming at designing gamified instructional activities,a general process for gamified instructional activity design is summarized.Through two rounds of action research,the classroom observation,after-school testing and interviews have employed to verify the effectiveness of the gamification activities design.The results show that these activities,students’ learning interest,cooperative learning competence and independent inquiry capability are developed.With the students’ mastery and application of information technology knowledge and skills,and students’ information literacy have been improved and the edutainment are realized to some extent.
