Education is a great power to promote the national economic development,which is related to China's comprehensive national strength and international competitiveness.Nowadays,more and more researchers pay attention to the importance of primary and secondary school teachers' work performance.As the leader of educational activities,teachers' work values influence their work performance to a great extent.With the deepening of research,some researchers have found that there are certain differences in the age of individual work values.At the same time,some studies show that when the extrinsic environment changes,individuals will adjust their work values accordingly to adapt to the changes of the new environment.The purpose of this study is to examine whether there are age differences between the intrinsic and extrinsic work values of primary and secondary school teachers,and tested whether age and work situation would moderate the influence of various dimensions of work values on work performance.In the first study,A questionnaire survey was conducted among 424 primary and secondary school teachers.The results show that There was no significant correlation between age and intrinsic work values,while there was a significant negative correlation between age and extrinsic work values.The interaction between age and intrinsic work values were not significant,and the interaction between age and extrinsic work values were also not significant.In the second study,43 teachers were sampled four times a day in specific situations by using the experience sampling study.Finally,a total of 616 data were collected from the work situation.The results show that there was no significant correlation between age and intrinsic work values,but there was a significant negative correlation between age and extrinsic work values.The interaction between age and intrinsic work values were not significant,but the interaction between age and extrinsic work values were significant;The three interactions of work situation,age and intrinsic work values were not significant,and the three interactions of work situation,age and extrinsic work values were not significant.The final conclusions are as follows:(1)There is no age difference in the intrinsic work values of primary and secondary school teachers.(2)There is a significant negative correlation between the age of primary and secondary school teachers and their extrinsic work values.(3)Age has no significant moderating effect on the intrinsic work values of primary and secondary school teachers on their work performance.(4)Age plays a significant role in moderating the influence of extrinsic work values on work performance of primary and secondary school teachers.(5)Work situation has no moderating effect on the effect of intrinsic work values on work performance of primary and secondary school teachers.(6)Work situation has no moderating effect on the effect of extrinsic work values on work performance of primary and secondary school teachers.
