In order to adapt to the development of society,the educational curriculum reform is also constantly developing and improving.The new curriculum reform advocates playing the dominant position of students and allowing students to become masters of learning.Rural junior high school students are exposed to relatively narrow knowledge,and having less knowledge reserves,much less to take the initiative to ask questions.To a certain extent,this hinders the pace of the new curriculum reform.Developing students’ question-raising ability is the most direct and effective way to bring into play the main position of middle school students in biology classroom in rural middle school.Cultivating students ’ability to ask questions is to let students try to think for themselves,ask questions,and then discuss with teachers and classmates to draw correct conclusions.Such a learning process is the "real initiative."This paper takes all the seventh and eighth grade students of Jiaohekou Middle School in Huinan County,Tonghua City,Jilin Province,and 21 junior middle school biology teachers in rural schools as the research objects.By using the methods of literature,questionnaire,interview,classroom observation and case analysis,this paper studies the cultivation of students’ questioning ability in rural junior middle school biology teaching.By designing questionnaires and interview outlines,the current rural students’ questioning ability in biology class,cognitive status,and teachers’ application of training students’ questioning were investigated and analyzed.In the form of case study,this paper analyses the application principle of cultivating students’ questioning ability in biology classroom teaching of junior middle school in rural schools,and tests the application effect of the teaching method which focuses on cultivating students’ questioning ability in biology teaching of junior middle school in rural areas.The results show that teachers consciously stimulate students’ initiative to ask questions in the process of classroom teaching,which will promote the improvement of students’ thinking ability and scientific inquiry ability.The author hopes that through the joint efforts of the vast number of front-line biology teachers,starting with improving students’ ability to ask questions,the learning and living environment of rural students will be improved,so as to improve the level of education and the quality of students’ learning,so as to raise the biology teaching in rural junior middle schools to a new level,and make rural students really love biology and biology science.
