With the acceleration of urbanization and the constant adjustment of urban-rural dual system, more and more migrant workers go to cities to make a living, and urban sanitation workers are one of them. With the increasing number of urban sanitation workers, the children of sanitation workers living in the city with their parents are increasingly concerned by the society. How to integrate into the urban community is a big test of their urban life, and it will also become a social problem. As a social work of professional assistance, the government and society have increasingly recognized it.Therefore, social work should actively respond to social needs and use professional ethics and methods to help children of sanitation workers better adapt to urban life.Through the professional practice of social work service institutions in Jinan, this study takes a street as an example, and takes fifteen children of sanitation workers in the street as the object of study.Through participatory observation and unstructured interviews, this status quo of community integration of sanitation workers was summarized from four aspects:identity integration, education integration, social interaction integration and psychological integration. The results show that the integration status of children of sanitation workers, whether from rural areas to urban areas or growing up in urban areas, was not optimistic. The main manifestations are insufficient community participation, ambiguous self-identity positioning and difficulty in identity integration of children of environmental sanitation workers;negligent relationship with teachers and classmates, lagging behind in learning process and difficulty in education integration;insufficient peer group and community support, monotonous and closed life, difficulty in social interaction integration, insufficient self-confidence and weak sense of psychological belonging. At the same time, children of environmental sanitation workers have their own advantages in the process of community integration, which are mainly manifested in their own advantages of strong self-care ability and willingness to integrate;family advantages influenced by parents'love and good quality;education advantages of compulsory education in cities and better teaching resources, etc. These characteristics can become the advantages of their integration into the community. From the perspective of ecosystem theory, through the analysis o'f their individual micro-system,intermediate system, outer system and macro-system,it is concluded that the factors affecting their community integration are due to the imbalance of the whole system and the lack of interaction. Then, combined with the dilemma and cause analysis of the integration of children of environmental sanitation workers, the feasibility strategy of social work intervention is put forward.Through adjusting their micro-system,increasing interaction the middle system, supporting the outer system and improving the macro-system,we can promote the harmony and balance of the whole system and promote the community adaptation of children of environmental sanitation workers. We should adjust from the micro-system to help them improve their ability and self-confidence in dealing with problems;from the middle system,we should help the children of sanitation workers interact with their parents and peers and increase the family-community relationship;from the outer system,we can improve their community support network and actively play the role of community organizations;and from the macro-system,we can advocate a good social environment and constantly improve the corresponding policies and regulations.Only in this way can we promote the harmony and balance of the whole system, thus promoting the community adaptation of children of sanitation workers.
