Travel prose in ancient China occupies a very important position in the history of prose development.Travel prose has a very high literary aesthetic value.This kind of prose has beautiful words and rich emotions.It often relies on one thing or one scene to express personal aspirations,thoughts and feelings,or the rise and fall of the dynasty.In this paper,I agree with Professor Mei Xinlin on the definition of ancient travel prose.In his opinion,as long as there are articles of traveling nature,whether based on reality or imagination,they are called traveling prose.Therefore,in my articles,some articles based on imagination of the nature of travel have also been included in the scope of my research.My research is mainly divided into three parts.The first part clarifies the concept and characteristics of ancient travel prose,and then analyses the composition of ancient travel prose in middle school textbooks.The second part explores its specific aesthetic characteristics from four aspects: scenery,travel notes,comments and words.The third part gives teaching strategies based on these aesthetic characteristics.To sum up,this paper mainly explores the aesthetic characteristics of ancient travel prose,and puts forward corresponding teaching strategies on the basis of aesthetic characteristics.It is hoped that Chinese teachers will pay more attention to ancient landscape travel prose and arouse students' interest in learning such prose,improve students' appreciation ability of travel prose,and realize the significance and value of landscape travel prose teaching.
