In recent years,quality education is the main direction of China's educational reform,which mainly focuses on "people",aiming at the comprehensive and sustainable development of students in this education,that is,to improve the quality of all aspects of the educated,and the core link to achieve this goal is the implementation of the educational concept-the work of teachers,especially head teachers,is more important.The key is that the head teacher is a special group in our country's education execution work,a teacher in charge of the students' thought,study,health and life in a class,an organizer,leader and educator of a class,a coordinator of the teaching and education work of all the teachers in the class,and a central figure of the trust of the school,students and parents.It's very important to play multiple roles and shoulder multiple responsibilities.As headteachers of private boarding middle schools,they have to attach more importance to educate students to raise their ability in living independently,interpersonal communication and level in psychological health.Therefore,it has become the focus of success and failure of China's education reform to build a team of head teachers in a scientific and rational manner.At present,there is an upsurge of research on teachers' competence in the educational field.The research on teachers' competence by educational experts and scholars has extended to all stages of education.However,there are few studies on the competence and weakness of head teachers,not to mention the competence of head teachers in boarding schools.Therefore,this study mainly chooses Chengdu,Mianyang,Leshan boarding secondary schools as the research objects,takes the head teachers of private boarding secondary schools as samples,adopts literature review method,questionnaire survey method and behavioral event interview method to investigate the competence of head teachers in boarding secondary schools.The survey results are analyzed by data statistics method.The general situation of competence and the reasons for this situation.Through the analysis of questionnaires and interviews,the results show that: 1.The overall competency level of head teachers in boarding middle schools is ideal,but there are great differences in teaching emotions between different genders,disciplines and teaching time;2.The selection and employment of head teachers are arbitrary,most of whom have not experienced the standard and systematic examination to provide evidence for assessment or evaluation;3.Boarding middle school head teachers' psychological counseling ability is insufficient;4.The subject boarding school head teachers' achievement motivation,work efficiency awareness,education ability is relatively weak.According to the results,the following educational suggestions are given: 1.Schools need to carry out appropriate diversified and systematic training for head teachers;2.Improvethe knowledge structure of head teachers;3.Improve the motivation and efficiency of the work of head teachers;4.Schools need to actively attach importance to the mentality of head teachers,increase communication with head teachers,and constantly improve the head teachers.Teachers' psychological counseling abilities,such as employing special counseling experts and training teachers' mental health counseling,can better promote students' physical and mental health.With the change of social and economic level,school performance standards will also change,and the flexible and changeable system of teacher competence will also change.Therefore,the research on the competency of boarding middle school head teachers should keep pace with the times and deepen continuously,so as to improve the competency level of boarding middle school head teachers in a real sense.
