In this study, pattern refers to the change of material properties involving color, shape, spatial orientation and quantity in the two pattern types of repetitive pattern and developmental pattern, from which each pattern arrangement constructs a stable and regular sequence structure. These models are characterized by repeatability, regularity and predictability.Pattern is an important component part of the content of children's mathematical cognition, train the ability of the pattern of preschool children can help children's preliminary logical thinking ability development, past research mainly focused on the teachers to organize the teaching activities and the pattern of activity on children's cognitive effects of research, and age are mainly concentrated in the stage of primary and secondary schools.Mode filling is also mainly carried out by a mode activity running through the teaching activities. In this study,60 children were randomly selected from three large classes of a first-level kindergarten in chengdu city as the subjects of formal investigation. On the basis of previous studies, the experimental method was adopted to explore the characteristics of 5-6 year old children under different material properties. The independent variable in the experiment is the material property, which can be divided into three conditions of color--shape,spatial orientation and quantity. When analyzing specific data, according to the change of material attributes,it can be divided into two parts: single-dimensional attribute mode task and two-dimensional attribute mode task. The former refers to that only one attribute is changing in this mode task, while the latter refers to that there are two dimensional attributes changing at the same time in this mode task.According to the operation of pattern filling, there are two types of pattern: repetitive pattern and developmental pattern, among which the tasks of repetitive pattern include repetitive pattern(color-shape)pattern and repetitive pattern(spatial orientation)pattern, and the developmental pattern is both developmental pattern and quantitative pattern. The dependent variable in the experiment was children's scores under various tasks. This research is supplemented by the interview method to further understand and explore the thinking process of children in the mode filling task, and analyze the language expression ability of children in the operation process and the types of errors. The research results of this study found that:1.In the case of single-dimensional attribute, that is,if the material only has a single change of a certain attribute, such as color, shape, spatial orientation or quantity, the pattern filling ability based on color change is higher than that of shape and spatial orientation attribute in the case of repetitive pattern type;Under the developmental pattern type, the pattern filling ability based on the change of shape attribute is higher than that of color attribute. In general, the two repetitive pattern tasks are easy to develop the pattern tasks.2.In the case of two-dimension attribute,if the two attributes of color, shape, spatial orientation or quantity change at the same time, the mode filling ability based on the simultaneous change of color and shape is the highest, followed by the mode filling ability of spatial orientation and quantity change, and the developmental mode is still the most difficult.3.The filling ability of single-dimensional attribute mode of children aged 5-6 years is significantly higher than that of two-dimensional attribute mode.4.The pattern filling of children aged 5-6 years under the condition of single-dimensional attribute and double-dimensional attribute showed significant difference, and gender also showed significant difference.5.Children aged 5-6 years old show six types of errors in model filling tasks, including :(1)they cannot grasp the relationship between parts and the whole, and do not make comprehensive observation;(2)focus on a single dimension;(3)irrelevant reasons;(4)the identification of pattern structure is unstable;(5)wrong starting point;(6)failing to state reasons or understanding.6.Children's language expression ability and provided pattern filling structure also have certain influence factors on their model understanding ability.
