Effect And Quantitative Estimation Of Urbanization Process And Institutional Environment On Export Behavior Of Enterprises

With the rapid development of China’s foreign trade,the decrease of foreign market requirement and the rise of trade protectionism,has brought unprecedented pressure and challenges.Urbanization,as the greatest potential of domestic demand and development momentum in the domestic market,is the fundamental way to avoid potential risks of exportoriented economy and seek long-term benign and stable economic development.However,China’s urbanization has failed to reduce its dependence on exports.Under the background of imperfect market economy system,the difference of system environment will inevitably affect the phenomenon of micro-economic activities.Therefore,under the background of analyzing the spatial dynamic development of population urbanization,regional differences of institutional environment and the trend of trade change in China,this paper uses statistical theory and econometric methods,such as two way Fixed Effects Estimator、Tobit Model、Heckman Selection Model,to empirically analyze the impact of population urbanization on export dependence,and from the perspective of institutional environment(legal system environment,administrative system environment),examines the differences of the impact of urbanization on the export behavior of micro-enterprises.Specifically,this paper mainly draws the following conclusions:First,between China’s urbanization process and export dependence are not linear,but have a significant inverted “U” relationship.With the improvement of urbanization level,China’s dependence on exports increases first and then decreases.The main reason for the increase of dependence on exports is the widening income gap between urban and rural areas in China.Secondly,the increase of urbanization level will restrain the export participation of enterprises and reduce the export scale of enterprises.Urbanization effectively stimulates domestic demand by expanding overall consumption demand and urban investment demand,and reduces the probability of enterprises participating in export and export scale.Third,the improvement of regional legal system will significantly increase the motivation of enterprises to choose exports,and expand the inhibition of urbanization on enterprises’ export participation.Perfect legal system environment will increase the comparative advantage of trade,and then enhance the export motivation of enterprises.At the same time,the improvement of legal system will expand the effect of urbanization on domestic demand release and reduce the motivation of enterprises to participate in export.Fourthly,regional administrative monopoly will lead to the expansion of enterprises’ export,and expand the inhibition of urbanization on enterprises’ export scale.From a national perspective,the serious regional administrative monopoly has resulted in the disintegration of the domestic market and restricted the effective release of domestic demand,which is an important reason for the export expansion of enterprises;from the internal perspective,local governments protect local industries by administrative means and restrict foreign competition,and local enterprises benefit from the internal market demand brought about by the process of urbanization.Reduce the export scale of products.
