At present,science education at home and abroad has begun to integrate STEM education concepts to achieve the purpose of strengthening technology and engineering education.STEM is the acronym for science,technology,engineering and mathematics.STEM education emphasizes the application of multi-disciplinary knowledge to solve problems together.The subsequent STEAM education adds artistic elements to the original STEM,helps students understand the links between different disciplines from multiple perspectives,and improves their ability to solve practical problems in real situations by using multi-disciplinary knowledge comprehensively.Science and technology activities in primary and secondary schools are practical and exploratory activities,which are set aside from the curriculum of primary and secondary schools and can be independent of the curriculum system,with science and technology as the main content.It is an important way to improve the scientific quality of primary and secondary school students in China.Since there are no special science courses in middle school,it is an important way to carry out science and technology education for junior high school students to carry out science and technology activities on the campus.China has also introduced STEM and STEAM education,and gradually become popular in China’s developed regions.But behind this phenomenon,there are many problems: many schools,in the name of STEAM education in junior high school,carry out creative education activities,so that students can produce works with the help of 3D printing,robotics and other technologies.Overemphasizing the status of technology not only violates the original intention of education,but also does not really embody the STEAM educational concept.Many STEAM educational science and technology activities in primary and secondary schools at home and abroad are carried out within the scope of scientific and technological societies with the help of 3D printing,robotic programming and other technologies,resulting in STEAM activities can not involve all students.Therefore,how to choose a suitable STEAM project to carry out scientific and technological activities in junior high school campus is a very concerned issue for front-line teachers.This is also an important exploration of STEAM education in junior middle school.Based on this,this paper puts forward three research questions: 1.Find out the differences between STEAM,STEM and Creator Education,and affirm the advancement of STEAM science and technology activities;2.Find out STEAM technology activities for junior high schoolreference through analysis;3.Design localized STEAM education technology activities for all junior high school students.In view of the above research problems,this paper first defines the concept of STEAM education,and introduces the origin and connotation of STEAM education in detail.By studying the development of STEAM education at home and abroad,analyzing and comparing the similarities and differences between STEAM,STEM and Creator Education,combining with the implementation status of science and technology activities in junior high schools,this paper attempts to design and implement STEAM science and technology activities for all students in junior high schools.In this paper,STEAM education related content is studied,and finally a case of STEAM technology activities suitable for extensive development in junior high school campuses is designed.It provides a reference for the design of campus science and technology activities based on STEAM.In the case implementation effect evaluation,the author also puts forward relevant suggestions.
