Biology is one of important subjects in the field of science.It bears the dual responsibility of cultivating students' scientific quality and humanistic quality.The publication of biology curriculum standards for senior high schools in 2017 put forward new requirements for biology teaching.Part of existing teaching modes can't meet the need of new curriculum criterion and are not good for students' development.Therefore,life education theory should be applied into biology teaching to change that situation.Thinking about the present situation that education in our country is divorced from the reality of people's life,through critical inheritance and learning from Dewey's educational thoughts,Tao Xingzhi proposed life education theory on the basis of Chinese traditional culture.It consists of three educational theories.They are “life is education”,“society is school”,and “the combination of teaching,studying and doing”.The application of life education theory in biology curriculum will help to cultivate students' core quality of biology subject and make them become qualified social citizens.By using documents method,comparative method and interview,this study is carried out with the theme of “The application of Life Education Theory in Biology Teaching”.Firstly,the author collects and analyzes the present situation of research on life education theory and its application in teaching.Based on that,the author points out the inadequacy of former research and the innovation of this research,and then proposes the purpose and meaning of this paper.On this basis,the research ideas are summarized and the appropriate research methods are selected.Secondly,it expounds Tao Xingzhi's life education theory,which mainly includes the simple introduction of Tao Xingzhi's life,rearrangement of life education theory's contents and characteristic and summary of evaluations on life education theory from different educators who lived in different times.So it is expected to understand the real meaning of life education theory and choose educational thoughts suitable for China's contemporary national conditions from life education theory.Then through analysis on biology subject features and biology teaching features,this paper lists 12 subject features and 5 teaching features of biology subjects in detail.Based on that,the author analyzes the feasibility and compatibility of the application of life education theory in biology teaching from the aspects of education theory,core quality,subject features,teaching features,teaching revolution and students' requirements.Then it comes to a positive conclusion.After that,the author put forward the principles,strategies and teaching examples in application of life education theory to biology teaching with the guidance of biology core quality.The application of life education theory in biology teaching should follow the principles of life,practice,ontology,generation and effectiveness.Make life-oriented teaching objectives,choose teaching content from life,combine life with teaching process,carry out life-oriented education evaluation,and explain the above principles and strategies with examples.Then,based on the analysis of the contents of the first five chapters,design teaching cases,analyze and evaluate them,and provide practical basis for the application of life education theory in biology classroom.Finally,the research conclusions,deficiencies and research prospects of this research are briefly discussed.In the rapidly developing world,with numerous teaching methods and theories emerging,a lot of teachers fall into the misconception of blindly pursuing new teaching and neglecting traditional educational thoughts.Through demonstration,the author firmly believes that it's important and necessary to apply life education theory into biology teaching,which can not only enhance teaching quality,but also help to cultivate core quality of biology subject.
