The cultivation of comprehensive,high-quality and innovative talents will be greatly required for the fast development of modern science and technology and the advent of the intelligent era.The new curriculum reform advocates that we should be student-centered,strengthen the relationship between education and life,fully mobilize students' learning initiative,and pay attention to the cultivation of students' comprehensive practical ability.The research systematically investigates,combs and summarizes the educational research literature of the concepts of Tao Xingzhi's life education theory and extracurricular scientific and technological activities in primary schools.The three core ideas of the life education theory including "Life is education","Society is school" and "Combination of teaching,learning and doing" emphasize that education should be rooted in life.The functions of teachers' teaching and guidance should go with the subjectivity students' learning.We should focus on the cultivation of students with the organic combination among thoughts,hands,and brains,as well as the unity of truth,goodness and beauty.The deepening and broadening of theoretical research and application are more up-to-date,making scientific and technological activities more life-oriented.The survey of students' questionnaires and interviews with teachers as well as the analysis of the data showed that students much enjoyed scientific and technological activities which were beneficial to broadening students' knowledge and improving their scientific literacy.The resources of students' life with the integration of science and technology need to be further studied.The students' subjective role,teachers' theoretical guidance,the forms and site facilities of scientific and technological activities need to be improved.It is pointed out that the application of life education theory on the extracurricular scientific and technological activities should follow the principles of life,subject,practice and generation.It is necessary to design life-oriented activity themes and objectives,choose the suitable activities associated with life,expand the activity sites,play the assistant roles of teachers and parents,pay attention to students' personal experience and practical activities,and finally carry out life-oriented activity evaluation and other application strategies in the process of activities.According tothese principles and strategies,this study designed three kinds of projects about extracurricular science and technology activities.The first one was about the activities of design and handy work.The project of "naughty air" is based on the principle of daily life in which three interesting projects of design and handy work were designed with the integration of the scientific knowledge including the power of compressed air and the occupation of air in space.Under the guidance of subjectivity,practicality and generative principles,each project of activities was designed with clear learning tasks including data collection,design,implementation plans,and presentations.The results of practical research show that the projects of activities with the integration of the theory of life education can enhance students' interest in participating in activities,improve students' subject consciousness,cultivate students' information literacy and innovative consciousness,and enhance students' life abilities such as hands-on operation,interpersonal communication and self-evaluation.The second kind of activities is about the family science activities with the theme of "Raising goldfish in self-made fish tanks",focusing on the development of family life education resources,so that students can understand the structure and living habits of goldfish,master the general technical knowledge of raising goldfish,exercise the ability of scientific inquiry and innovative design,and cultivate the emotion of caring for life through parent-child activities of self-making fish tanks and raising goldfish.The third kind of activities is about the scientific investigation activities,starting from the hot spots of the society,with the theme of "Investigation of garbage classification consciousness".The purpose is to promote students to carry out the investigation practice of garbage classification consciousness in social life places,broaden their knowledge of garbage classification,exercise the ability of investigation and research,and stimulate the sense of identity of garbage classification.The purpose of this study is to enrich the curriculum resources of extracurricular scientific and technological activities in primary schools,provide reference for teachers,and promote the reform and development of extracurricular scientific and technological activities in primary schools.Through research,several points of extracurricular scientific and technological activities integrated with "life education" theory are obtained: First,iit is helpful toenhance the enthusiasm of students to participate;second,it is conducive to enhancing the students' subjective consciousness;third,it is beneficial to exercise students' ability to live.
